We are searching for an exceptional person to become the next leader of our Georgian Bay Association. As the voice of our 18-member associations, we advocate on issues that impact our members and help preserve and protect Georgian Bay’s unique and fragile ecosystems. For over a century, the GBA has championed sustainable development, influenced environmental policy, and engaged member associations and communities to safeguard the future of this precious region.
As Executive Director, you will play a vital role in driving the execution of GBA’s vision and mission and work closely with our Board to implement strategies, plans and policies that protect Georgian Bay for future generations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate leader to drive environmental advocacy and to make a positive impact in one of Canada’s most beautiful and ecologically important areas.
Key Responsibilities include:
Lead the execution of GBA’s advocacy strategies to protect the Bay and work with member associations, governments, policymakers, stakeholders, Indigenous communities, and other partners to advance GBA’s vision- Serve as the public face of the GBA, representing the organization and its 3,000+ members at events, in the media, and with external partners
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment and inspire a dedicated team to achieve the organization’s goals
- Oversee strategic planning, operations, financial management, and staff leadership
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience that may include the following: non-profit, advocacy, public affairs, general/administration management, financial management, membership experience coupled with organizational leadership and process improvement skills
- Knowledge of working with a volunteer Board of Directors and implementing strategies, workplans, and policies
- Outstanding and persuasive writing and presentation skills
- Well-developed relationship-building and management skills
- Demonstrated passion for Georgian Bay and environmental conservation
