Enjoy Free Fishing Until July 19
As a way for families to spend low-risk quality time outdoors, the province of Ontario is offering two free weeks of recreational fishing this summer. Canadian residents will not have to purchase a license or carry an Outdoors Card from July 4 to July 19. 
Even though you don’t need a licence to drop a line, existing rules and regulations must be followed. Anglers must follow catch and possession limits, fishing sanctuaries, and follow all fishing regulations.

Anglers must follow catch and possession limits, fishing sanctuaries, and follow all fishing regulations.Veterans and active Canadian Armed Forces members residing in Ontario can enjoy year-round recreational fishing without having to purchase a fishing licence. In place of a recreational fishing licence, veterans and active members will be required to possess and carry a Canadian Forces Identification Card or Record of Service Card.
