GBA Workshop Provided Guidance to Help Associations Comply with New ONCA Regulations
GBA held a Governance Workshop for member association and GBA directors on February 10, 2022 to inform them of key changes in Ontario’s Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (ONCA), which came into force last October. The new rules are designed to modernize the way not-for-profit corporations operate.
Heather Keachie, a lawyer who specializes in not-for-profit corporate law, presented at the workshop and reviewed actions that associations incorporated in Ontario must take to ensure their by-laws, articles and governance procedures conform to the new Act. Heather’s presentation can be found here.
