GBA continues to provides input on ECCC Great Lakes studies
Following their coastal wetlands resiliency project, which wrapped up in April 2022, ECCC has recently completed a Baseline Coastal Habitat Survey in order to assemble data for ongoing work on assessing the Great Lakes coasts, including the extent and health of wetlands. GBA has been participating in these projects since 2018 by attending meetings and webinars, and providing input at each stage. GBA requested that islands in the Great Lakes be included in the next iteration of the Habitat Survey, in order to provide a complete survey, as they had been excluded.
