February 9th Water Levels Report
In the past month Lake Michigan-Huron has stayed near its level of a month ago. All of the lakes are above their levels from last year at this time, except Lake Superior, which is 1 inch below. In the next 30 days Lake Michigan-Huron is expected to stay near its’ current level.
Lake Superior’s outflow through the St. Mary’s River is predicted to be above average in February. Lake Michigan-Huron’s outflow into the St. Clair River and the outflow of Lake St. Clair through the Detroit River are projected to be above average.

This satellite image from earlier today shows the North Channel, Bay of Islands and McGregor Bay areas completely covered by ice, ice coverage all along the shoreline down to Honey Harbour and starting to form out in the Bay.
