MPAC Announces Deferral of 2020 Assessments
Following Ontario government actions to reduce tax burdens in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is deferring the revised property assessments due to be sent out this year until 2021. GBA has met (online) with MPAC to determine that there have been no policy changes on the way small undevelopable islands and natural state islands are valued, and to discuss this deferral and its implications.
