December 15th Water Levels
Water levels on Lake Michigan-Huron declined by 1 inch over the last month, is 2 inches above it’s level of a year ago, and is projected to decline by 2 inches over the next month.
Lake Superior’s outflow through the St. Mary’s River is predicted to be above average in December. Lake Michigan-Huron’s outflow into the St. Clair River and the outflow of Lake St. Clair through the Detroit River are projected to be above average.
There have been no clear satellite images available to date for Georgian Bay, but, from what can be discerned + some reports received, ice cover appears to be commencing earlier this winter than it did last year.
