December 1st Water Levels

Cities along the southern Great Lakes received heavy snowfall from Winter Storm Bruce this past week, with some areas getting upwards of a foot of snow. During the course of the upcoming week, most of the Great Lakes region can expect to receive off and on mixed precipitation of snow and rain.

Lake Michigan-Huron’s water level dropped 1 inch over the last month, is near the same level as in November 2017, and is expected to fall by 2 inches in December.

Lake Superior’s outflow through the St. Mary’s River is predicted to be above average in November. Lake Michigan-Huron’s outflow into the St. Clair River and the outflow of Lake St. Clair through the Detroit River are projected to be above average.
