GBA Asks the MoE Not to Fast Track Regulatory Changes for the Proposed TCE Pumped Storage Project at Meaford

TC Energy requires approval from the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) and a contract with them in order to move forward with this project. The IESO initially rejected the proposal for the pumped storage project as having insufficient value for Ontarians, but the Ministry of Energy (MoE) intervened and moved the project forward through the IESO approval process. Now the MoE is intervening again, this time to circumvent normal procedures to fast track IESO approval. GBA is objecting, and has written a letter to the Energy Minister asking them to thoroughly consider whether this project is a good deal for Ontario.
