GBB is Gearing up for a Busy Summer in the Biosphere
Georgian Bay Biosphere (GBB) is gearing up for a very busy summer that includes a number of projects to help support biodiversity, promote native plants and provide an update on the state of the Bay.
Along with their continuing stewardship efforts to rescue turtle eggs near road construction, GBB field biologists will be conducting research on how well the wildlife fencing and eco-passages under roads in the biosphere are working for their targeted species.
GBB will also continue to focus on native plants throughout the biosphere to help boost wild bird populations and encourage pollinators. GBB plants hundreds of native species each year, and you can do your part by ordering native plants for your cottage through their native plant sale. The native plant order form can be found here.

This summer also marks the 15th anniversary of the State of the Bay ecosystem health report. Every five years, GBB publishes a new magazine to highlight and share scientific findings and trends in water quality, the lower food web, fish communities, wetlands and landscape biodiversity, and climate change. Look for GBB’s State of the Bay publication this summer.
