GLEN Releases Seminal Report: The Great Lake Water Quality Agreement at Fifty
The Great Lake Water Quality Agreement (GLWQA) between Canada and the United States turns 50 this year. In preparation, GBA became a founding member of a new organization, Great Lakes Ecoregion Network (GLEN), which coordinated virtual community sessions to gather public comment on the GLWQA, the major 50th anniversary review and the new 2022 GLWQA agreement.
GLEN presented the findings from its seminal report, The Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement at Fifty, as well as a 30-minute video presentation highlighting citizen’s voices and messages from its six public webinars about the state of the region’s lakes and rivers. The report shows both the accomplishments of GLWQA over the last 50 years, and the shortcomings and failures.
