Great Lakes Ice Coverage
The 2019 Great Lakes Ice coverage is up sharply from 2018, which will mean less evaporation this winter – one of the factors that is pushing water levels higher. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory in Ann Arbor, 75 percent of the Great Lakes are ice-covered.
