Great Lakes microplastic sampling and shoreline clean up event on August 20th 2016
The Georgian Bay Association is committed to preserving, improving and/or maintaining water quality in Georgian Bay. We support our partners in this effort. You may never have heard of Exxpedition, but they are an international organization focused on raising awareness about water quality with a special focus on mircoplastics in water. Microplastics are thought to be endocrine disrupters and may therefore influence ecosystem and human health. So, there is a Great Lakes microplastic sampling and shoreline clean up event on August 20th 2016. The days events will be centred at Sail Parry Sound, in Parry Sound, with entertainment, BBQ and information tables. Members of the public are invited to attend the event in Parry Sound.
