Wasuaksing Swing Bridge Will Operate on a Reduced Swing Schedule This Summer
The Wasauksing Swing Bridge will continue with a reduced swing schedule again this year to maintain the safety and integrity of the aging bridge. The reduced schedule means the bridge will only open every second hour daily, per the schedule below:
- Until June 14, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., the bridge will open every second hour: daily at 7 a.m., 9 a.m., 11 a.m. 1:15 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
- From June 15 through to Aug. 31, the bridge will swing every second hour daily from 7 a.m. through to 9 p.m.
- The bridge will not open if wind speeds are in excess of 30 kilometres an hour 1o minutes before the scheduled opening.
The bridge spans the South Channel near Parry Sound between Rose Point and Parry Island.
